Dr Seon Levius

Dr. Seon Levius serves as the ICT Policy Advisor to the Guyana Defence Force and Assistant Director to the National Defence Institute, operating from the office of the Chief of Defence Staff. He is a tenured Associate Professor of Technology in the Department of Business Administration at the State University of New York at Potsdam, where he also coordinates the university’s first fully online master’s program in management. Recently, Dr. Levius was honored with the Thomas L. and Jane D. Russell Distance Education Faculty Excellence Award for his outstanding inquiry-based teaching approach at SUNY Potsdam. Additionally, he has been recognized as a SUNY Online Teaching Ambassador due to his exceptional teaching performance.

Dr. Levius, a recognized authority in ICT, teaches in SUNY Potsdam’s Master of Science in Management program, the institution’s first entirely online degree offering. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration, a Master of Science in information systems management, and has completed Executive Education at Harvard Business School with a focus on digital transformation. His professional credentials include industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).

Prior to his tenure at SUNY Potsdam, Dr. Levius managed information and communication technology portfolios for two Caribbean intergovernmental and multilateral agencies based in Barbados. His teaching is enriched by his diverse knowledge and life experiences, which he uses to foster lifelong curiosity. Recently, Dr. Levius delivered a TEDx Talk titled “Coaching Business: Understanding Your Purpose,” which received enthusiastic feedback from a wide online audience.
